What is an online clipboard?
An online clipboard is a fast, free way to share text online between your own devices or with other people without email, chat apps, or sign-ups. Paste any note, code snippet, link, or address into Online Clipboard, choose how long it should live, and share the generated 6-digit code. The recipient simply enters the code to view the text on their phone, laptop, or tablet.
Why choose Online Clipboard?
Unlike pasting into a chat or emailing yourself, Online Clipboard keeps sharing clean and temporary. Every clip carries a strict expiration — up to a maximum of 24 hours — and is permanently deleted afterward. For anything sensitive, an optional passcode ensures only the right people can read it. There's nothing to install and no account to create.
Need continuous sync instead of a one-time clip? Try the Live Clipboard, which updates in real time as you type. Sending a document, photo, or video? The P2P File Share streams files directly between browsers — they're never uploaded to any server.
Frequently asked questions
Is my text stored permanently?
No. Clips are stored temporarily and automatically removed once they expire. The maximum lifetime is 24 hours.
Do I need to keep the tab open?
No. For static text clips, the recipient can open the code any time before it expires — you can close your tab.
Can I share files too?
Yes. Use the P2P File Share, which streams files directly browser-to-browser without ever uploading them to a server.
How secure is the passcode?
Your passcode is verified on the server against a one-way hash. The plain-text passcode is never stored, and clip content is never returned without the correct passcode.
